8th Annual Family Reunification Day in Santa Clara County

Santa Clara County was one of many jurisdictions across the country that held events this Spring in recognition of National Family Reunification Day. The goal of this celebration is to acknowledge families and communities coming together and to raise awareness about the importance of family reunification to children in foster care. This year, our Board of Supervisors proclaimed Wednesday, May 30, 2018 as Santa Clara County’s 8th Family Reunification Day.

At a festive event held at the Social Services Agency Auditorium, commendations from the County were given to six dedicated parents whose extraordinary efforts allowed them to safely and successfully reunify with their children.   A commendation was also given to two community partners, Maria Gil and Jara McDonough, who have both made vital contributions to the reunification and strengthening of our dependency court families.
